Will swap t-shirt for dry sleeping bag.

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Will Swap tshirt for dry sleeping bag.A big thank you to Le Catch for sugesting this slogan! Check out Le Catch's own blog too, it's damn good.

Le Catch suggested this slogan in a comment on Jim Carroll's blog which is also excellent, and as I liked it a lot I said i'd try to do it. Well, it took me longer thanI had hoped but it has arrived.

Pity it wasn't ready for Glastonbury it sounds like they would have gone down a storm. Ha ha ha - storm, see what I did there... no? Nevermind.

Anyways, this latest FestivalShirts offering is, as usual available for the unbelievably reasonable price of €19.90 + p&p which means if you're ordering a t-shirt in ireland it will cost a grand total of a measly €23.40. Sure how many pints is that? I dunno, but it's not a lot of them!

Buy one now!

Go on, you know it'll rain.

Talk me down.

Update: Competition is now closed...

It's Friday and I'm in a gooooooooooood mooooooooooooooooood. And there's no talking me down. So I'm having a competition. And the winner will receive the FestivalShirts t-shirt of his or her choice! Check out our range of t-shirts in our shop.

There are two steps for entry.

  1. Put a link from your web space (site, blog, myspace, bebo, whatever) to the FestivalShirts homepage that says "I want a t-shirt".
  2. Come back here and leave a comment on this post telling me where you put the link so i can see it.

How easy is that?

Your link should look like this: I want a t-shirt.

Here's the code that link in case you need it, just copy and paste it into your html document or whatever:

<a href="http://festivalshirts.net/">I want a t-shirt</a>

The winner will be chosen at random, and the only other rule is that you HAVE to have an EU address to ship to in order to receive your prize.

The closing date for entries is July 15th 2007. Winner will be chosen shortly thereafter. Get busy!!!!

This competition is listed on: The Prize Finder - UK Competitions

Dub Pistols with Terry Hall at Electric Picnic

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Terry Hall is doing what Electric Picnic are calling Hip Hop with Dub Pistols, and they'll be on the new stage at EP called 'the Nokia Trend Lab'. I wish someone would explain to me what Dub is. I assume listening to the Dub Pistols that it's reggae/ska meets hip hop. Anyone care to educate me? :D

Anyway you might know Terry Hall singer with the Specials. I hadn't heard of Dub Pistols before but they seem pretty damn good. EP line up just gets better and better.

Festival Phone Fun - wind powered charger!

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

wind powered phone chargers Last year at Electric Picnic I abandoned my 3G Nokia phone with camera and all kinds of gizmos because the battery life sucked and I couldn't be bothered guarding my phone at the charging stations for hours. Now, via markhams blog I discover wind powered phone chargers for such events are on the way!

Prototyped for Orange to trial at Glastonbury, these gadgets may become commercially available in the future.

Orange's™ wind generator prototype is of the standard horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) type, with a blade propeller diameter of 30cm. Weighing a mere 150 grams (without tent mount) the wind generators 3 phase alternator produces around ½ watt of power, enough to trickle charge a rechargeable battery. This stored power is then ready for a mobile phone to be plugged into the small control box and fully charged within 1-2 hours.

Critics suggest a solar panel or a hand crank method might be superior, but I'd prefer to have an orange propeller on my tent any day!

Electric Picnic: Nouvelle Vague, Duke Special and Scott Matthews added to line up!

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

YES!!! Nouvelle Vague, Duke Special and Scott Matthews have all been added to the electric Picnic line up. I don't know about you but I am particularly excited by the addition of Nouvelle vague - they played Dublin recently and I was so tempted to up, but I counted my pennies and decided I should scrimp and save and go nuts at EP...

Now, I just have to keep hoping for Shirley Bassey to play... :)
Who else are people hoping for?

FestivalShirts Photos!

festivalshirts photo shoot

You might have noticed that our homepage now sports some fetching photos of two extremely handsome young fellows modeling our incredible 'I'm fucking brilliant' t-shirt.

The photos were taken by Rich (thanks Rich!) and feature Gabriel Nespoli (thanks Gabe!) and my good self (thanks Me!).

The photo above also features my sister Cath, who didn't have a t-shirt, but got in on the photo shoot with her world renowned Beyonce impression (thanks Cath!).

If you're wondering about Gabe's expression it's commonly known on the internet as WTF. Gabe's Canadien and I don't think he ever quite got acclimatised to Irish shennanigans.

Naturally High. Honest.

New t-shirt design added to the shop - 'Naturally High. Honest."

this one hardly needs explaining - you could wear it as a genuine declaration, but I think really it's a case of the wearer protests too much, methinks.
